I agree with what s been said about not melting nuggets but fine gold flakes are usually not worth more than spot. Submerge the unrefined gold in a mixture of nitric and hydrochloric acids. Dry this residue until only gold powder remains. So a person may be better off to screen out his fine gold and refine it.

As per the title i m wanting to melt down a little over 1oz of gold nuggets to make into a coin round.
